Why Chelsea may not Qualify from their Champions League Group.

Following the completion of the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League group stage draws, participating teams are now made aware their group stage opponents. While a few of the big favourites may be happy with the teams they are drawn against, a few others should not count themselves to be that lucky.

One of such teams who didn't see much luck in the draws is Chelsea football club. The Premier League club is drawn in group Group E. A group which also consist AC Milan, RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb. All are current league champions in their countries. In our opinion, Chelsea may not qualify to he next round from this group.

Although on paper, Chelsea is probably the biggest team in the group. However, they shouldn't underestimate the other three teams, particularly Dinamo Zagreb. It is not as though they will win the Champions League, but they could be party spoilers.

Also, with Italian Champions AC Milan's resurgence in Serie A, they have a point to prove in Europe. Hence, finishing top of this group will see them make a statement of intent.

Recall that they are one of the most successful sides in the history of the competition, behind only Real Madrid. Whereas, Chelsea have only won it twice in their history.

By now, you should know that the Champions League is a different ball game and some teams just know how to do the business. AC Milan is one of them and that is bad news for Chelsea.

Furthermore, the team that would really give the fight to Chelsea is RB Salzburg. Based on the progression of this club, they are certainly hoping to make giant stride. Going further than he group stage will be a very good way to start that.

If they make it out of the group, it could be at Chelsea's expense. So, to our expectations, they and Chelsea will battle for the second spot in their group and we think it will be attained by RB Salzburg.

Lastly, Chelsea haven't started the season particularly well. They have moved players out and are not getting their targets easily. Even the once they have got haven't really performed. Sterling is yet to find his footing, Koulibaly was redcardded in their last game and they are not scoring much either.

Should the trend continues, they are in for a bad season. This could really affect them and cost them progression from this group. Here, they may not qualify from thia group.

With the detailed reasons given above, do you agree that Chelsea may not qualify from their group? If not, what is your take on their faces of progression?
