In this year's Ballon d'Or top 30 final power ranking, which saw Lionel Messi claim the prestigious individual award, only three African players secured a spot.

According to a report by Daily Post on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, these three players are Victor Osimhen from Nigeria, Mohamed Salah from Egypt, and Andre Onana from Cameroon.

Their inclusion in the top 30 list was a recognition of their outstanding performances for their respective club teams during the previous season.

Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, played a pivotal role in leading the team to secure the Serie A title.

He also earned the Golden Boot as the top scorer.

Mohamed Salah, who represents Liverpool, significantly contributed to the team's top-five finish in the Premier League table with his impressive goals and assists.

Onana, on the other hand, showcased his brilliance with Inter Milan as he guided the team to the Champions League final, although they faced a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City.

Following this achievement, Onana moved to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

In the final top 30 ranking for the Ballon d'Or, Andre Onana secured the 23rd position, Mohamed Salah was placed in the 11th spot, while Victor Osimhen attained the 8th position.
