Jessica Motaung finally breaks silence about Itumeleng Khune's future role

Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, has confirmed ongoing discussions with Itumeleng Khune regarding his future at the club. Khune, the former Bafana Bafana captain, has expressed his desire to continue playing, but the club is leaning towards offering him a non-playing role.

Khune was noticeably absent from the Chiefs' recent pre-season tour of Turkey, leading to speculation that he may have to find a new club if he does not accept a non-playing position.

Motaung emphasized that Khune is a valuable member of the Chiefs family and they are exploring opportunities for future collaboration. She urged supporters to be patient as the process unfolds.

In addition to Khune, Motaung addressed the team's recruitment plans, confirming the acquisition of left-back Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates. She hinted at further signings to be announced soon as the new coach, Nasreddine Nabi, and his team finalize decisions.

Chiefs have recently parted ways with some players as part of a rebuilding process under Nabi's leadership. The team is optimistic about the upcoming season and the positive impact Nabi will bring.
