The Super Eagles team are enjoying the best times in terms of attacking options in a long while as Nigerian strikers are dominating Europe this season.
To mark this off, Victor Osimhen finished at 8th position in the Ballon d'Or rankings. The highest ranking for a Nigerian in French Football Magazine Awards.
According to Opta Analyst, Since the start of last season in Europe’s top five leagues, midfielders and forwards from only nine other countries have provided more goals than Nigerians (120).
Nigeria are ahead of some major footballing nations in these rankings, including Belgium (100), the Netherlands (93), Denmark (72), Croatia (55) and every other African country.
There are some of this strikers that have separated themselves to be amongst the best in terms of goal scoring this season.
1. Victor Boniface
Upon his game against Saudi Arabia, it was clearly seen that Nigeria has a gem in Boniface.
He has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season, with a winner in added time, a penalty against Qarabag in the Europa League.
The player has been nominated thrice for rookie of the month in the Bundesliga this season, winning it in August and September as well as winning the best player award of the month in August to cap of his amazing start to the season.
2. Gift Orban
There had been a tussle between the Togo FA and the Nigerian football Association over the citizenship for Gift Orban. However it is now cleared that the player can feature for the Super Eagles.
Being only 22, the player has taken the Belgium by storm this season. In the Europa Conference League he scored a hat-trick.
3. Victor Osimhen
Despite being out because of injury, the Napoli forward has managed to hit 6 goals in the Serie A, continuing from where he stopped last season.
The player is quick, strong and is a dangerous player in front of goal.
