Meet The Nigeria-Eligible Players That Have Scored Multiple Goals In 2023/24 FA Cup

About 70 players have scored multiple goals in the 2023/24 English FA Cup as per Transfermarkt. Interestingly, two of these men are currently Nigeria-eligible. Who are these young goal poachers?

The first player in this category is William Idamudia Daugaard Osula of Sheffield United. This 20-year-old striker was born in Denmark to a Nigerian father. His 3 goals so far in the competition have made him the youngest striker to score multiple goals in the 2023/24 FA Cup. The Denmark U-21 international netted a brace when the Blades visited Gillingham in the third route of the tournament. He also provided an assist as his side got a 4-0 win in the clash.

Osula in action

Osula added another goal to his name when Sheffield United hosted Brighton in the fourth round. His first half stoppage time goal helped his side to get a 2-2 draw prior to the break. Unfortunately, he could not hit target in the second period as the visitors ended the game with a 5-2 win. Meanwhile, only João Pedro of Brighton had more attempts at goal than the Denmark-born footballer in the game.

The second Nigeria-eligible player that has scored multiple goals in the tournament is Samuel Folarin. This winger also has a Nigerian father but was born in England. He featured for Harrogate in the first round of the 2023/24 FA Cup with 2 goals to his name. Folarin got the winner just 2 minutes after Chris Doyle got an equalizer for Marine. He was on target 7 minutes into the second half as he helped his side to secure a 5-1 win in the clash.

It should be noted that Folarin has not featured for any English squad in the international stage. However, Osula is one of the two Nigeria-eligible guys that are in the Danish U-21 squad.
