The draw for the group stage of the Europa League takes place in Istanbul on Friday. Arsenal are returning to European competition after an absent 2021/22 season, while Manchester United are back in the second-tier tournament from the off for the first time since 2019. Their returns to the Europa League see them come in as two of the heavyweight names in this year's competition.
Man Utd have the highest UEFA coefficient in the draw, while Arsenal rank third behind Europa Conference League winners Roma. Both Premier League sides are in pot one for the draw and are the only English representatives.
How does the Europa League draw work?
The draw will be held on Friday with the 32 teams placed into eight groups of four teams.
The winners of each group will advance directly to the round of 16. All of the runners-up in the groups will take part in the knockout round play-offs, where they will face one of eight teams dropping out of the Champions League having finished third in their groups.
Teams who finish third in their Europa League group will be moved to the Europa Conference League.

No two teams from one country can be in the same group, while Arsenal and United could come up against the likes of PSV, Monaco, Real Sociedad and Real Betis. The two Premier League side can face any of the teams in pot 2, 3 and 4.
