NGA 1-1 LES: Match Review And Group C Table As Super Eagles Share The Spoils With The Crocodiles

The Super Eagles of Nigeria kicked off their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on a disappointing note following their hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Crocodiles of Lesotho on Thursday in Uyo.

The much-anticipated contest started with the Super Eagles dominating possession just as expected but they were unable to find the back of the net, after missing so many clear-cut chances they were presented within the first half of the game.

The second half of the clash began with a surprise as the visitors broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when Motlomelo Mkwanazi gave his team the lead, leaving the Super Eagles fans inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in awe. A few moments later, the hosts got an equalizer thanks to Semi Ajayi, whose 67th-minute strike rescued a point for the Super Eagles as they began their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on a flimsy note.
